Course Description

The research project is the key element of the Agricultural and Environmental Engineering MSc and provides the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of study in line with students? career interests and aspirations. To reflect the current pan-European approach of many multi-national organisations, we hope that many of the projects will be undertaken in continental Europe. As well as the latest computer hardware and software facilities - including computer aided engineering (CAE), finite element analysis (FEA), geographical information systems (GIS), digital terrain modelling (DTM) and satellite image analysis ? students use the following state-of-the-art research facilities: ? Comprehensive land equipment laboratory ? Unique UK soil dynamics laboratory ? Unique Off-Road Vehicle Dynamics facility ? Irrigation and drainage laboratory, including impressive rainfall simulator equipment ? Soil physics and mechanics laboratory ? Biological and chemical analysis facilities. Assessment The MSc by research is assessed on the basis of the thesis and an oral examination
