Course information: Interaction Design at Edinburgh Napier involves a variety of multi-disciplinary skills and approaches in the planning, conception, design, implementation, and support of interactive products, services, environments, and systems that meet human needs and wishes. It has a particular concern for the social, cultural, and emotional factors on the one hand, and technical and economic factors on the other. Based over three trimesters, the course offers a number of potential routes drawing upon existing and new modules from the School of Arts and Creative Industries and the School of Computing. Trimester 1 -Design Research Methods -Design Reflection and Contextualisation -Interaction Design Prototyping Trimester 2 -Interaction Design Major Studio Project -Interaction Design Theory Trimester 3 -Masters Project or Dissertation Career prospects: The MDes Interaction Design programme acknowledges that many design disciplines are incorporating elements of digital interaction in their work. As different electronic and computing technologies increasingly pervade our lives, there is a growing need for products, services and systems that are approachable and enjoyable, as well as useful. Graduates from this programme will go on to work in the areas of: -Interaction Design -Product Design -Design Consultancy -Product Engineering -Digital Business.

 

Entry Requirements

You will have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate art & design discipline, computing or product design engineering; or evidence of industry experience in an appropriate discipline.
