Technology, Design and Environment School of Arts The MA in Composition and Sonic Art is one of four taught postgraduate courses for artists, composers and interdisciplinary practitioners offered at Oxford Brookes University (alongside Contemporary Arts and Music Contemporary Arts and Social Sculpture). These interdisciplinary courses broaden awareness of cross-art-form concerns, question the boundaries of contemporary arts practice, provoke shifts in perception, and help to develop work which is relevant to contemporary life. Composition and Sonic Art students take three compulsory modules. Creative Strategies explores ways of generating contemporary and cross-art form work, sonic art and related expanded art practices Research and Development gives the opportunity to develop project proposals through research and exploration and Composition and Sonic Art Practice allows you to explore a range of conceptual approaches to your practice in group seminars and individual tutorials informed by relevant technical and theoretical discourses. We offer a range of courses to help you meet the academic and English language entry requirements for this course and also familiarise you with university life.
