It is recognised for its world-class research and hold the Excellent in Teaching rating. The MSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering complements our current suite of undergraduate degree programmes. It is suitable for candidates who have already completed an undergraduate degree in the field of Electrical Engineering either in the UK or overseas, and who wish to pursue a masters degree for the purpose of further learning and development in preparation for graduate employment, particularly with a view to gaining Chartered Engineer status via the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The modules on this course can also be studied as stand-alone modules for those in employment seeking professional development or further knowledge in particular subject fields. The course will provide students with the educational components, set out by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and other UK and European engineering professional institutions, for further learning matching sections needed to qualify as a Chartered Engineer. Studying the course will enable students to develop specialist threads commensurate with the specialisms of the School?s research interests and reflecting the needs of the Electrical and Electronic Industry. Students will increase their ability to apply their knowledge creatively and effectively for the benefit of their profession, to plan and execute a programme of work efficiently and to be able, on their own initiative, to enhance their skills and knowledge, as required throughout their careers. Our aim is for students to develop the potential to become future leaders and champions of industry. Our Electrical Engineering graduates have always enjoyed a high employment rate and subsequent career success.
