Course Description

This exciting course is for radiographers who wish to extend their knowledge and skills to a specialist level in forensic imaging practice relevant to the needs of a clinical radiology department. This course aims to: extend your knowledge and skills to a specialist level in forensic radiographic practice relevant to the needs of a clinical radiology department enable you to operate ethically in complex and unpredictable specialist forensic situations and enable you to appraise critically the issues governing effective forensic imaging practice enable you to develop a critical understanding of the role of forensic imaging within the clinical environment. What you study The course is made up of two modules: Medico-Legal Issues in Forensic Imaging Practice (delivered over a block of four days at the beginning of the module) and Principles of Forensic Imaging (delivered over a block of five days at the beginning of the module). The sessions will be facilitated by recognised specialists in the field of forensics, demonstrating the multidisciplinary nature of forensic practice. You will be encouraged to reflect upon and share your own experiences. How you learn Appropriate learning and teaching strategies are utilised for each module to facilitate you in relating theory to practice critically. Examples are lectures, seminars, small group work, tutorials and dental practicals. Following the one-week block of study for each module, you will be supported online with directed study via the virtual learning environment, elearning@tees. Support is also available to you via email and telephone.

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be registered radiographers and have an honours degree (2.2 or above) or be able to provide evidence of the ability to work at postgraduate level. No forensic experience is required.International students are required to demonstrate an Irmation Itemalue+oS
