This interdisciplinary programme draws on the expertise available throughout UCL in a wide range of faculties and departments. The programme aims to address the challenges arising from contemporary changes in gender relations and to provide students with the theoretical and methodological frameworks with which gender issues are explored, researched and implemented. What and how will I learn? Students gain the advanced skills, methods, concepts and theories required for the study of gender in an interdisciplinary context at graduate level. The optional courses offer students a genuine opportunity to develop their own interests in a wide range of disciplines, and the dissertation provides opportunities for independent research. Degree Structure Students undertake courses to the value of 180 credits. The programme consists of two core courses (40 credits), optional courses (80 credits) and a research project (60 credits). A Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits, full-time one year, part-time two years) is offered. Assessment is through a variety of methods, including essays, coursework, written papers, oral examination and the dissertation. Why should I study this degree at UCL?
