You will be able to evaluate current research and product designs critically, and apply your knowledge innovatively to propose new developments. The programme provides an excellent starting point for further research or for employment with innovative technology companies. You will conduct coursework in groups on several of the modules, a mini-project and a longer, individual research related project under the supervision of staff who undertake internationally leading research in human-computer interaction, with experience in the commercialisation of products and business solutions. The course structure is designed to promote a thorough understanding of appropriate material and to encourage independence by means of enquiry based learning. This is achieved through two mini-projects, assignments for each module and a substantial project. A key element of the MSc in Digital Entrepreneurship relates to the manner in which the mini-projects and the individual project will involve evaluation by a panel of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. These Dragon s Den - style presentations, while not credit-bearing, provide the students with an opportunity to pitch their concepts to potential investors. At the end of the degree, it is hoped that one or two of the projects will be supported, through the University (and regional funding agencies). While this is not integral to the qualification, the opportunity to pitch to such funding sources, with guidance from lecturing staff and successful entrepreneurs who have expressed an interest in the course, will undoubtedly provide useful experience for your future career.
