Course Description

This course allows for specialisation in the field of civil engineering surveying. An introduction into the broader civil engineering subjects will then be followed with a choice of specialised optional modules on your chosen theme. Civil engineering surveying involves the conversion of data collected through methods like GPS, EDM and laser scanning into graphical representations which can be used for design and construction. The course will concentrate on the technical knowledge and skills that are most relevant to the field of surveying for the award of MSc in Civil Engineering: Surveying. Students will develop: the ability to communicate ideas effectively in written reports, verbally and by means of presentations to groups the ability to exercise original thought the ability to plan and undertake an individual project interpersonal, communication and professional skills Following the successful completion of the taught modules, a major individual project is undertaken over the summer term. Entry Requirements

2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent) Applicants need to have studied multiple courses in Structures, Geotechnics and Fluids
