This degree builds on the initial grounding given in methods and approaches to American Studies but then enables selected students to add a European dimension to their experience, through the spending of a semester (once the core module has been taken) at one of a number of partner institutions. The intention of this course is to enable students to benefit from the resources at the relevant partner institution. This co-operative venture is sponsored under the ErasmusSocrates Programme. Students take 60 credits in modules (or dissertation) at a partner European institution (Venice, Basel, Orleans, Munich, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Turin, Berlin).

2.1(Upper 2nd class hons degree or international equivalent) Applicants must have strong references and in some cases a transcript of marks and/or a sample of work must be provided. Candidates may also be interviewed.
