We are
a private Higher Education College, located in the centre of London
(Bloomsbury), directly opposite the University of London Union (ULU) and
Birkbeck College, University of London. We deliver full-time UK higher education courses in Business and
Computing at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the MBA. In September 2014 we are introducing undergraduate
and postgraduate Law courses. All our degree courses are validated by the
University of Northampton.
We
have a partnership with Birkbeck College where all our teaching takes place.
Our students have full access to Birkbeck College's library (including full
borrowing rights) and computer facilities (including WiFi). Our students are
also enrolled as associate members of ULU, providing them with access to social,
recreational and sporting facilities and activities, which includes a
discounted fee for use of the gym and swimming pool. These partnerships with
Birkbeck College and ULU provide us with a unique position in the private
higher education sector, and contribute to enabling us to fulfil our commitment
to provide our students with a high quality ‘university’ experience.
We are
conferred Highly Trusted Sponsor status by the UK Home Office (UKBA) and are
therefore authorised to issue our own Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies
(CAS) to enable our international students to apply for their Tier 4 (General)
student visa.
We are
committed to higher education. Our faculty includes distinguished academics
with 25 per cent having a PhD and another 25 per cent working towards their
doctorate. Many of our faculty have practice-based experience, providing our
students with a ‘real-world’ dimension to their academic studies.
Our
teaching and learning strategy is student-centred. We celebrate the fact that
across all our courses we have students achieving the highest grades in
individual modules and award classifications, confirming our teaching and
learning approach equips students to attain their full potential. The UK’s Quality Assurance Agency reviewed the quality and standards of our higher
education provision in June 2013 and expressed confidence in all three areas of
assessment, and three areas of good practice.
We
recognise our students as full members of our College. We value our students’
input into our operational and strategic development. We include our students
as full members of our decision-making committees: the Academic Committee and
the Course Committees.
